Spindel- und Lagerungstechnik Fraureuth GmbH Receives Green Electricity Certificate from ZEV

In our ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and reduce our ecological footprint, we are pleased to announce that Spindel- und Lagerungstechnik Fraureuth GmbH (SLF) has been awarded with the Green Electricity Certificate 2023 by the Zwickauer Energieversorgung GmbH (ZEV). This award recognizes our consistent use of electricity from renewable energy sources and reflects our deep commitment to environmental protection.
Switching to green electricity is a key part of our strategy to reduce CO2 emissions and actively contribute to climate protection. By procuring 6.2 GWh of green electricity from ZEV in 2023, we have estimated a savings of approximately 2,800 tons of CO2. This saving not only highlights the effectiveness of our measures to switch to renewable energies but also strengthens our resolve to continue this important initiative.
Our commitment extends beyond the mere use of green electricity. We continuously strive to optimize our energy consumption and implement innovative technologies to enhance our operational efficiency. For example, we have undertaken sustainable renovation work on our production halls, including renewing the glazing. The aim of these measures is to reduce our annual natural gas consumption by about 10%. SLF’s forward-looking strategy is further exemplified by the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of another production hall.
The recognition through the Green Electricity Certificate motivates us to continue on our chosen path. We understand that sustainability is an ongoing commitment that requires proactive action and continuous improvements. Therefore, we plan further measures to increase our energy efficiency and further reduce our environmental impact.
